IGN: Rumor: StarCraft 2 Beta By Year’s End?

Well, that’s no longer a rumor. After days and days of teasing and waiting and ever changing splash pages, Blizzard has announced that their next game will be StarCraft 2.

No word yet on release date, the announcement/presentation is still ongoing, in fact, over in Korea at the invitational tournament. So it’s hard to say if I’d leave WoW, an MMO, to dedicate my attentions to an RTS. I do love StarCraft, and for some reason, was playing it poorly and obsessively right before I started playing WoW, but obviously, an RTS and an MMO are two totally different animals, and depending on how long until release, something else, or just plain apathy, could be driving me away from WoW before SC2 even hits.

However, I, for one, welcome our new Protoss overlords.
